About Helen

Helen Sällfors has been working as a concert pianist on a freelance basis since she earned her soloist degree at the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg in 2001. Helen performs as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist, and she has made her mark in pieces such as Grieg’s piano concerto. At the university Helen studied under professor Mats Widlund and attended master classes held by professor Hans Leygraf, Liisa Pohjola and others. She was also tutored by Hamish Milne in London.

Helen is eager to create new venues for classical music. She is the pianist and the artistic producer for a series of concerts, “Möten med klassiska mästare” and “Klassisk lördag”. Helen has also been working closely with colleges and universities for many years. She has performed at Festspelen in Piteå and on the international scene she has performed in countries such as Holland, Finland and France.

Helen is also a trained music teacher and runs the Gothenburg region based Pianoakademien, where she gives lessons.
